Just today I was thinking about how amazing children are. I am working here in Egypt at an international English school. I am just a teacher assistant but it allows me to make a living.
I work with year 1 and yesterday my class teacher was out sick. It was a tough day as they listen to him so well and they listen to me half as well. Anyone else, maybe a quarter as well as they listen to him. They are good kids and I really love them but some of them are real rascals. By the end of the day yesterday i was exhausted and my throat was sore from yelling a few of them the last period. I felt horrible about being so mad at them, but they were really bad mind you.
Anyway, today was a new day and my teacher was back and order was beautifully restored. As for the children I had scolded, well they still love me. Maybe even more. Strange, here I would think that they would love me less but no. It made me realize how children are so loving to the main people in their lives. Their love is very unconditional in a sense because they love their parents and the main influences in their lives without reserve. They may get mad and disappointed and even in the worst families not trust or honor their parents but inside they love still.
A child cannot live without the love of their parents and amidst any bad stuff they will still love. Its when we get older and begin to judge that we chose to stop loving or continue loving. But children love... their parents and major influencers in their lives. How amazing is that? Children easily believe and trust and love... those are things we lose as we become adults.
I want to love like a child again. Im sure I can find it in me somewhere... just need to find where I put it.

True, they love to be loved as long as you remind them you are disciplining because of love. Fifi, however, said I'm not invited to her wedding because, "you discipline us because you love us." HAHAHAHA!
