New Apt

Moved into a new place. I finally feel like I live here. The thing is I am living in a real Egyptian area. There are other foreigners in the area but its nothing like the Ex pat area I was living in. Hence, its a lot cheaper too. I can actually afford it and save money.

The cool thing about this area is that its packed with people all the time. At least since I moved in. Of course it is Ramadan, so there is a lot of late nite eating and fireworks. But I think it is always busy with people around.

I live with a girl from China and we have a two bedroom apt. Its a simple apt but i love it. I wish I had a camera and i'd show you the neighborhood. But I can tell you that the other day I was off to teach a class and coming down the street was a herd of goats and sheep, herded by a young girl.

Another day I was coming home and some guy was cutting up an animal, a large goat I think, in the street. He was skinning it right there on the dirt on the ground. Now I know why when I eat meat it has some strange sandy, grainy stuff in it.

Its a cool area and i am just hoping after Ramadan its still cool. We'll see.
